Nowhere is this design philosophy more evident than in Alfheim, the mystical forest realm introduced in Chapter IV.
Alfheim is a land where light and darkness intertwine. Spirits drift silently between towering trees, ancient ruins lie half-swallowed by nature, and danger often hides behind breathtaking beauty. Within this realm, Treasure Chests and Weapon Skin Chests are cleverly concealed throughout the landscape, challenging players to use both their eyes and intuition to uncover them.
In total, Chapter IV Alfheim contains 10 Treasure Chests and 5 Weapon Skin Chests. Each chest offers valuable rewards, with Weapon Skin Chests providing especially coveted cosmetic upgrades that allow players to personalize their gear and stand out on the battlefield. This guide will walk you through every single chest location, ensuring that no hidden reward goes unclaimed.

The Nature of Alfheim Exploration
Unlike earlier regions, Alfheim’s chest placement emphasizes environmental awareness rather than brute force. Many chests are hidden behind trees, tucked beneath structures, or placed in areas that appear unreachable at first glance. Monsters often patrol nearby, but clever pathing—such as hugging walls or Odin Valhalla Rising Diamonds from blind spots—can help you avoid unnecessary combat.
The key to success in Alfheim is patience. Study the terrain, look for landmarks like massive trees or ruined buildings, and trust that if something looks suspicious, it probably hides a reward.
Alfheim Treasure Chest Locations
Treasure Chest 1 – Gimle
The first Treasure Chest is located north of Gimle town. This is one of the most straightforward chests in Alfheim and serves as a gentle introduction to the region’s exploration mechanics. The chest is readily visible and does not require any special movement or puzzle-solving to obtain. Simply travel north from the town center, and you’ll spot it without difficulty.
Treasure Chest 2 – Dusky Canyon
Dusky Canyon presents a more deceptive challenge. On the map, the chest appears to be positioned along a cliff edge, but in reality, it sits at ground level. Many players mistakenly search above or below before realizing the trick.
To safely reach the chest, move along the canyon walls. This route helps you avoid aggressive monsters roaming the area while guiding you directly to the chest’s actual location.
Treasure Chest 3 – Shadow Ambush
West of the Shadow Ambush area lies an ominous structure. Directly in front of this structure, you’ll find the third Treasure Chest. While enemies are nearby, the chest itself is not heavily concealed. Use the structure as a landmark, and approach cautiously to secure your reward.
Weapon Skin Chest 1 – Shadow Ambush
The first Weapon Skin Chest in Alfheim requires more careful positioning. Located on the middle of a cliff face in the southeast valley of Shadow Ambush, this chest often goes unnoticed.
Players should explore the cliff from different angles, watching for narrow ledges or paths that allow access to the chest’s midpoint. The effort is well worth it, as Weapon Skin Chests provide unique visual upgrades unavailable elsewhere.
Treasure Chest 4 – Infernal Woods
In the Infernal Woods, this Treasure Chest is surprisingly easy to claim. It sits at the bottom of a wall, clearly visible once you enter the area. Despite the intimidating name of the region, this chest does not require advanced movement or combat strategies.
Treasure Chest 5 – Odin’s Descent
Southwest of Odin’s Descent, you’ll find a building with a Treasure Chest located underneath it. This chest is not hidden, making it another quick pickup for attentive explorers. Simply check beneath the structure, and you’ll secure the reward with minimal resistance.
Treasure Chest 6 – Void Plains
The vast openness of the Void Plains makes this chest easier to spot. Look for a large tree just south of the plains, as the Treasure Chest rests nearby. The tree acts as a natural landmark, visible from a distance, guiding players straight to the chest.
Treasure Chest 7 – Darkmoon Highlands
In the Darkmoon Highlands, the Treasure Chest is placed under a structure located on the southern side of the region. The terrain here can feel maze-like, so focus on southern landmarks and inspect any architectural remnants carefully.
Weapon Skin Chest 2 – Darkmoon Highlands
Also in Darkmoon Highlands, the second Weapon Skin Chest is hidden behind a dried mushroom tree south of the main area. This chest blends seamlessly with the environment, making it easy to overlook unless you intentionally circle the tree and inspect its backside.
Treasure Chest 8 – Muspelheim Portal

Treasure Chest 9 – Merman Settlement
One of the most visually distinct chest locations, this Treasure Chest sits in the center of a lake within the Merman Settlement. The openness of the area makes it easy to find, and unlike many other chests, it is not obscured by terrain or structures.
Weapon Skin Chest 3 – Merman Settlement
East of the Merman Settlement lake, you’ll encounter a watchtower. The third Weapon Skin Chest is positioned on top of this tower. Players will need to climb or find the correct access path to reach the summit, but the elevated view—and the reward—make it worthwhile.
